European Constitution

Well, you've likely heard the news that France voted down their acceptance of the European Contstitution. I think this may be because the French do the European thing all the time. French roast coffee is changed to European coffee all over the world. It goes like this.
You drink a pot of French roast coffee. Afterwards, the next thing you know, its you're a peein' coffee.

Yeah..& I also heard that the French see English Language as officially validatory: " English should no longer be seen as a foreign language. In Future it will be as basic as reading, writing & arithimetic."said Claude Allegre, the French Education minister.
When the Currency [ Euro] became, officially, France's currency too coffee or no coffee everything becomes officially european by default.:}

Yeah..my site is "different" as you put it.It came into existence with the purpose of " Showing the mirror" to certain faces. But then that is another story...& as melodramatic as the website itself.
But I shall soon be publishing some contents of other nature as soon as I can.Right now I am busy building a hotel.[ not a joke]
Cheers

ps.
& wonder if you've ever heard about Indian Constitution.
If we eat Beef Steak, we pee cattle herd!
Everything about the so called 'developing' nations is actually an topsy turvy, specially our economy & infrastructure is an inverted pyramid.Technological development is evident to the world,Even Bill Clinton & Condeleeza Rice are impressed to a level at what they have been 'shown'.
In Reality, we have been making good cars, but we have no proper roads to drive them on. We have all the appliances, microwaves computers etc. but no electricity to run them with..& so on...
Agra, the World Hertitage City owing its splendour to the magnificent Taj Mahal; & here we are sitting in heat going upto 48 degree celsius room temprature, & power cuts for 8 hours at a stretch everyday!

HaHa! As usual, your personality comes shining through.
Good to hear from you again, congratulations on the hotel.
Sorry to hear of your power woes. The upside to that would be that your not having to breathe all the crap from burning coal or oil, and not contributing to global warming, something our president doesn't seem to concern himself with. Seeing as how he and his have a vested interest in the energy market, what could be expected?
(Vulgar hand sign to him.)

I only drink unrecycled coffee, so you'll have to tell the rest of us how the recycled stuff is.

O no no! That is just the beginning to it all. In fact You call them 'woes' & that is a euphemism by standards of what we face here...
There is no 'upside' here. Indian atmosphere is the most polluted worldwide[literally & figuratively too].As for breathing freash air, you will not believe it If I tell you that frequent power cuts make us resort to lower means of generating power in our very homes by using deisel run elitricity generators that not only throws out black sooty smoke around, but also makes noise of decibels that will render us all deaf by the time we reach 60 years of age.
I've been to America & I find it's atmosphere far more cleaner & pure.

My sister is a senior project manager Of nestle US, residing in LA.So I had a lot of Free Latte & Chappucino To taste & also to bring along...
But nothing like Tazzo Chai at Starbucks...!

In fact,as far as enviornmental awareness goes...we, being an overcrowded nation bursting at seams with men have despoiled everything around.perhaps you do not know this, half of the Indian population, which is below the poverty line defecates & urinates in the open land [ rest rooms is a no- concept with them, & neither does our government provide any for the city dwellers either]. As a result of aeons of urinating, the ground water has become saline. So you see that drinking'recycled' water is not a joke here, it is a fact.[ yes most of us depend on groundwater as the govt does not ensure supply to most of the region. Also, over population has contributed to a rapid depletion of that particular resource; & we are not that enviournmenatally endowded either, with most of the rivers having run dry, & most of the glaciars melted already in the Everests, as we have no perinneal supply & depend on rain water]. So every house has to have its own borewell too besides an electicity unit. Wonder how long will that saline water last too[ too many ppl, too many buildings too little open land to allow that little rainwater to replinish the groundwater. We have to consider water harvesting seriously now, which is another herculean task, due to lack of literacy & awareness amongst most of my countrymen.
& you talk about 'vested interest' of your President...Seen from our eyes, you ppl are still very lucky. If you hear about our rulers. All the public money goes in their coffers & nobody can do anything about it. There is no transparency or accountability here. Corruption is rampant at every level. We are ruled by thieves, no Dacoits & mafia, literally. Any mafia, thief, murderer[like tom dick & harry] can contest an election here, & even win by election booth capturing. They wud gun down the officials there & cast thousands of votes in all the names in the registers.Wud you believe it, I went to cast my vote twice & found that someone else had already done that in my name!Never went after that.
They fight like cats & dogs in the parliament, & disrupt the daily proceedings, that is such a sheer waste of public money here...
& above all, the most corrupt of all is the Indian police. They are extortionists of the first order. We have a saying here.' You can murder anyone, & go to the police with the head of that person in one hand & money in the other & you will be a free man.'
I will tell you an interesting episode that occured recently in my neighbour hood. This house was burglered, & the robbers left with quite a loot. The poop ppl there avoided going to the police, knowing that they will never get their belongings back, & wud only face unecessary harassment at the hands of officials. After a week, the robbers came back & threatened them upon their lives, if they did not report to the police. When asked why they wanted them to do so, they said that the police was demanding a share in the loot, did not believe that they had stolen only 300,000& jewellery, & were demanding more than they had actually taken. They said if my neighbours did not report the exact amount stolen, they wud not be able to convince the police.
Even the tsunami relief funds were siphoned by the corrupt beaureaucrats & ministers here, into their Swiss bank accounts, & everyone of the pubilc servant here had contributed a week's salary to that!& I cannot relate the no of scams here..

Dizzy,
Wow. I really hadn't the slightest idea things could be that bad. Please forgive my ignorance. With such a large number of people suffering such conditions, I must give them all my respect for not having had thrown riots and starting a revolution. The greatest resource anyone could possibly have is the support of the people around them, and abuse of people's lives has to be one of the greatest crimes against mankind. I can only hope things can be rectified. A population as large as that in your country, with as many intelligent individuals as is apparent from those I have met and even read about, should be a thriving society. I wish that there were something I could do to help. Vigilante justice would likely be the result here in the states, but that has been ingrained into us, since our founding fathers were such individuals.

Dear Charles
There is a saying : ' Democracy is the kind of Govt. where ppl get what they Deserve'...That is if you elect thieves, you will be ruled by thieves. But Unfortunately, In India , it is a different story altogether, as you have seen.We boast of being the largest democracy in the world, but there are very vital facts that most ppl living in other nations are unaware of. Our multi party system & also Individual contestants have ensured a Hung parliament forever as no party recieves an absolute majority due to spliting of votes among many parties & individuals. Then after an election begins the Horse trading. The ppl winning individual seats can be 'Bought' by respectively larger parties to prove their majority in the parliament. If they are able to gather enough seats, they form the govt. Now every single smaller party or individual who offers support to the ruling party has its own agenda, which it bullies the ruling party to fulfill, threating to withdraw support, whether the ruling party likes it or not. Sometimes these agendas also include anti national activities like the recent genocide that occured in Gujarat that you must have heard of & the Govt. does nothing. Infact it 'justifies' in the name of ' Historical necessity'; just to remain in power.
We are very unsafe ppl, surviving miraculously on Prayer, sense of Humour & resilience.I cannot relate the suffering of ppl here, you will be appalled...
Ignorance Illiteracy on large scale, & superstition, they are our major enemies.Only a very small section forms the educated masses & intelligensia cannot do much, there is so much govt. pressure..one can get killed or just disappear...There is a Minister here who is famous for trowing ppl who dare raise their voice against him into his 'Pond full of crocodiles'[ This is no joke]
No Govt wants the masses in general to become educated & capable of individual thinking. They can easily fool them & use them as vote banks at the time of election [ By ditributing small items like a set of clothes & food to the already starving ppl & with their empty promises that never get fulfilled]& then keep on fooling & cheating them thereafter during their tenure...
Our judiciary is equally bad...it is a lengthy proceedure to get Justice...sometimes as lenthy as twenty years...the cases keep pending in files.By That time an innocent person cud already have completed a Life Imprisionment sentence. Can you imagine,a Rape case takes at least 7 years to solve. So Nobody complains.Infact the families of the victims prefer not lodging a complain for fear of social taboo.& by the time the case gets solved, the girl is already married & a mother of two..so they prefer not to pursue the case. It is sheer waste of time & money they say.
We have a saying here " If you want to take revenge on a person, just imbroil him in a judicial case, He will be miserable for the remaining life"

I think the US government wants educated people. Education makes everything cheaper. They just don't want a population that pays attention to their government. Thus, we have professional athletes who make more than educators, orders of magnitude more. We have a "free press", and entertainment networks whose alliance lies with a government whose focus is a concentration of wealth. This may only be an "emergent behavior," but it still serves to hide the erosion of rights we are experiencing. Since the fall of the Soviet Union, our government seems to be moving towards and embracing the very things that was pointed to as the reason they "were evil." People want to be free, secure, and retain what they have worked for. Unfortunately, we must all pay attention to those who would take that away from us. We have other people with misguided thoughts of what is or is not right, pushing to make the trivial illegal, and so our law enforcement can't even keep up the enforcement of the laws that are protecting our basic rights. I'd say, "God help us," but I think that is our responsibility.

I agree with you...I guess US govt. concentrated on wealth ever since the recession after the first world war.The ppl in US really work their ass off & what does the govt do?..creat insecurity in the third world to ensure a booming sale...It ultimately boils down to the same thing as you call it.." concentrating wealth"...One can clearly see how hard you ppl have had to work to get a decent living...& I guess it was only till recently that Americans had begun to relax & enjoy their weekends...until september 11th threw everything out of gear...
The impact then was felt all over...My husband is in the tourist industry...we suffered the most amongst all industries...
I know you ppl have to be very particular about paying your taxes properly...
about the prevention of law enforcement for the protection of citizen rights...I guess it is the same story everywhere...
It is true..Power corrupts..& ultimate power corrupts ultimately...
Reminds me of the orwellian maxim..." all animals[ or ppl] are equal, but some are more equal than the others"

ps:Correction:... produce weapons , then create insecurity in other regions to ensure a booming sale.. where countries of the third world wud amass weapons 'for defence' as they put it.that is where one third of our taxes are going...
whenever we hear about a visit by a condeleeza rice or donald rumsfield or a tony blair...the next news is almost certainly out in advance by word of mouth...& we read it a couple of days in the papers..." F-16 deal struck...etc. etc."..

Pps...Correction again...:-)..not ultimate..." ABSOLUTE power corrupts absolutely"

have you read George Orwell's Ninteen Eighty Four?..read it if you get hold of a copy...you will clearly see a Dystopian image that Orwell predicted for the year 1984 becomming prophetically true...
It is a dystopian novel about how the world divided into only three super powers wud operate...& clearly illustrates how it wud use the fear factor to subjugate the masses...
