55 Flash Fiction - Danger
Repelling down a free-fall without walls, she fed the line out with the expertise of practice and her pure instinct.
Straight down, without the benefit of a spotter.
She finally reached the bottom, feet planted on solid ground. She began to walk away.
WHACK!
"Did you see that? That was a black-widow spider!"

nice one! i love it - free-fall without walls...nice
I thought that they 'walked' vertically and that with that line in tow they would rise after the fall.
Its only when that line is broken that she walks sideways...
Brush up your science programmr :)
Hi Charles!
LTNS
Very creative, and thanks for the spider creepies! LOL
Heavens! didn't see that one coming
Thanks!
Programmr, Are you still waiting here to see whether that spidey is dead. Really DEAD!?
I like how you describe her as repelling without a spotter -- I immediately thought of a rockclimber without someone on belay. Then you revealed the spider! Nicely done.
