Argh! I am so sick of reading things by supposed "computer expert" "professional writers" who cannot make the proper distinction between 'then' and 'than.' Anyone familiar with the if-then construct and comparisons, such as greater-than or less-than, should be able to make the leap that 'then' denotes a sequence and 'than' denotes a comparison.

Once I tried to make a blogger aware of his/her mistake regarding this, when I saw the mistake being repeated over and over again, and I got a brush off with " do not school teach me" .
Ever since, I have seen some 'great writers' make the same mistake , but I keep mum on it.

I agree, its frustrating!Specially when I see ppl whose mother tongue is English, making this mistake!

Exactly. Nothing like ignorance and stubbornness combined. Pretty bad when those whose native language isn't English see it, but the "writer" turns a blind eye.

I've probably made this mistake a few times, but I've always welcomed suggestions; kind of like having a booger hanging from one's nose, certainly wouldn't want to keep it there.

Reduced financially, I am suddenly with the "between you and I" crowd.

They take offence when corrected.
Say it doesn't sound grammatical!
