55 Flash Fiction - Tim & Sal #21
Sal: "You hold to life, despite all circumstances. Respect dictates that you should do the same for engineered life forms."
Tim: "People have been known to sacrifice their lives for the sake of others'."
"Species survival above all else?"
"In the hope that things will be better for the survivors."
"Enigmatically shortsighted, while ultimately prudent."

That is indeed a paradox...
Sometimes it takes eons and generations of sacrifice to liberate humanity.
I am reminded of Moses and his people...
I question whether we will ever allow ourselves to be free, there always seems to be a few who would enslave us and many willing to be enslaved, madmen all.
That is again another paradox.
Men crave for freedom consciously while craving for enslavement subconsciously...
I like the matter-of-fact way you put it at the end. Nicely done.
Interesting, good 55! :-)
Wow, that is so eloquent! I sometimes think of what if I had to sacrifice my own life to save others? Then I think about how much more valuable I might be to others whilst alive.
BTW, we're getting Fios soon so maybe I'll be on people's blogs more often. Check out my blogs to see the amazing story!
Mona,
I for one, do not crave enslavement consciously or subconsciously, I do crave a sense of purpose, but I don't seek that from those who seek power.
Hi AnthonyNorth,
Welcome, and thank you, I've learned a lot from many, much more from a few.
Hi Evalinn,
Thank you, also.
S E E Quine,
That's very high praise, thanks. I think that you and the rest of us are much more valuable alive. I have said it so many times, here I go again: So long as there's life, there's hope.
It made me think. Well done.
Hi Joe,
Welcome. Thinking is something I love people to do, I can now count this as a success. :D
